1. A typical music lesson is divided up into sections involving theory, method book work, duets, and student choice.
2. Theory teaching is done using computer based theory courses at the place of the lesson.
3. Method book work will involve playing exercises from the standard method books for the instrument of choice (saxophone, flute, or clarinet).
4. Duets with be played with the instructor when the student is able and will include selections from classical (Bach), blues, jazz (bop), and pop/rock styles.
5. The student will then work on an item of the students choosing - for example - band class preparation, recital preparation, county/ district / state band contest preparation, or simply fun pieces of the students choosing.
