John Billington is a composer / soloist / producer / instructor in the Apex, Cary, Morrisville, Raleigh, NC area. He is a teacher of flute, saxophone / sax, clarinet, and electronic wind instrument lessons at home and at Burt's Music in Cary, NC. He is one of several music teachers who do not delegate the teaching of students to others. He has previously served as an all county saxophone judge for middle school students. His students have achieved recognition as winners in the middle school all county concert and symphonic band competitions, in middle school all district concert and symphonic bands, in middle school all state honor bands, and in high school all district bands. His students have been accepted in UNCW, ECU, and Berklee University music programs. He's the father of two children and enjoys working with beginners as well as advanced students.

John is a member of ASCAP with over 30 original compositions and studied performance flute with the former second flute of the Chicago Symphony and Dr. Robert Billington(DMA University of Miami).   He has also given presentations to local corporations (e.g. Glaxo) on "Music & The Relaxation Response" to help educate employees on using certain music as stress relief. He has independently produced two CDs, Tolisha & Project Bluebook.

John also performs in the area at private parties , weddings, restaurants (Gianni's and Gaitanos, Lotus Leaf Cafe) and club special events such as North Carolina Country Club, Governors Club, JAYZZ, the Pour House, Dorton Arena, Raleigh Parks & Recreation Events ("Lunch with Sinatra"), and the Lake Wheeler Concert program.
